Swamp Bats top Mainers

Connor Jones pitched five shutout innings and Bret Dennis clubbed a two-run double in the second inning to lift the Keene Swamp Bats to a 4-1 victory over the Sanford Mainers on Saturday night before 1,087 fans at Alumni Field in Keene.

Southern New Hampshire University’s Ben Criscuolo worked a scoreless ninth to earn his fourth save of the season as the Swamp Bats snapped a three-game losing streak and took a 14-16 record into the All-Star break. The NECBL All-Star Game was played Sunday night in Holyoke, Mass.

Keene resumes its slate on Tuesday back in Holyoke against the Valley Blue Sox.
