Dover mortorcyclist taken to Maine hospital after crash

ROCHESTER -- A Dover man was airlifted to Maine Medical Center after crashing his motorcycle into a car on Milton Road at 4:17 on Monday afternoon.

Gregory Hughes, 49, of Dover, was flown to the hospital in Portland, Maine, because of the seriousness of his injuries. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.

Initial investigation determined Hughes was driving south on his 2006 Honda motorcycle when a car driven by Darren Cushman, 51, of Milton, pulled out of a business near 175 Milton Rd. The motorcycle collided with the car as Cushman attempted to cross the southbound lane and turn north.

There was moderate damage to both vehicles and Cushman was not injured.

The accident is under investigation by Rochester Police.
