Manchester restaurant closed after employee commits suicide

MANCHESTER — The Farm Bar and Grille at 1181 Elm St. was closed Tuesday night, following an employee’s suicide in the restaurant’s basement Monday night, police said.

Matthew Walker, 47, was found by another employee at the establishment Monday night after hanging himself, police Lt. Todd Boucher said.

No suicide note has been found, Boucher said.

The restaurant posted a sign on its front door telling patrons it was closed Tuesday and would reopen later in the week. Boucher said the restaurant was not told by police that it had to close.
