JAFFREY - A man suffered serious, life-threatening injuries Wednesday night when his motorcycle was hit by a pickup truck, Fire Chief David Chamberlain said.

Chamberlain said the man, whose name was not released, was found lying on the pavement at the intersection of Turnpike Road and Hillcrest Road shortly before 4 p.m. Wednesday. He was taken to Monadnock Community Hospital for treatment of his injuries.

The pickup went off the road after the crash. A man driving the truck and a boy riding as a passenger, whose names also were not released, were taken to Monadnock Community Hospital to be checked for injuries, Chamberlain said.

The area near the crash was closed to traffic for several hours, reopening about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
