Bath man, 73, charged with sexual assault of child
HAVERHILL — A 73-year-old Bath man has been charged with five counts of sexual assault against a girl who was between the ages of 9 and 13 during the four-year period the alleged assaults occurred.
A Grafton County Superior Court grand jury has indicted John Butson of 20 Bristol Road on four counts of aggravated felonious sexual assault and one count of felonious sexual assault between Nov. 14, 2008, and Dec. 31, 2012, in Bath. Four of the charges are special felonies; the felonious sexual assault count is a Class B felony.
In other indictments, the grand jury handed up during its July session:
• Bruce Resnicoff, 69, of 23 Peterson Road, Apt. 0, Plainfield, is charged with two counts of possession of child sexual abuse images. The charges are special felonies.
• Tucker J. LaPoint, 22, of 17 Woodmore Drive, Hanover, is charged with attempted robbery, accomplice liability, on April 28 in Lebanon.
LaPoint, according to the indictment, “physically struggled with Megan Abbot” to get her purse in search of “money or drugs” before throwing the purse back at her after examining its contests.
• Breanna Prime, 19, of 171 Walsh Ave., White River Junction, Vt., is also charged with attempted robbery. She is accused of acting in concert with LaPoint.
Prime, according to the indictment, took a cellphone from Abbott during the alleged incident. Both charges are Class B felonies.
• Jesse Berthe, 34, of 163 Cottage St., Monroe, Conn., is charged with bail jumping on Aug. 12, 2013, in Plymouth for allegedly failing to appear in Plymouth District Court to answer a Class A felony charge of violating the controlled drug act, a subsequent offense, by possessing heroin with intent to sell on June 25 in Plymouth.
Bail commissioner Peter Gulick released Berthe on bail on June 26, 2013, according to the indictment.
Berthe, according to court records, has controlled substance convictions in November 1999 in Connecticut Superior Court, and in February 2013 in Springfield, Mass., District Court. Bail jumping is a Class B felony.
