Check scheme leads to arrests in Nashua

NASHUA — Two people have been arrested in connection with an alleged check forgery scheme.

Steven Potter, 24, of 39 River Road, Hudson, has been charged with a felony count of forgery after allegedly stealing several checks from a business in Tyngsborough, Mass., then cashing them at a local bank.

Jillian Marcotte, 28, of Nashua, was also arrested and charged with a felony count of criminal liability for the conduct of another to forgery. Police claim that Marcotte drove Potter to the Nashua bank knowing he planned to cash the stolen checks.

Potter was being held on $10,000 cash bail, and Marcotte was released on $5,000 personal recognizance.
