Scott Brown announces veterans coalition

MANCHESTER — Scott Brown has announced a coalition of more than 203 veterans supporting his campaign for U.S. Senate in New Hampshire.

The three co-chairs are Paul Chevalier of Nashua, Bill Grimm of Franklin, and Theresa Negron of Nashua.

Brown planned to hold a veterans’ coalition kick-off event Thursday at his campaign headquarters in Manchester.

A 35-year member of the Army National Guard, Brown is vying for the Republican nomination against former U.S. Sen. Bob Smith, former state Sen. Jim Rubens and about half a dozen lesser-known GOP candidates.

The primary victor will face U.S. Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, D-N.H., who released a list July 14 of more than 100 veterans supporting her re-election campaign.

The Veterans for Brown list includes Joe Daley, husband of U.S. Sen. Kelly Ayotte, R-N.H.
