Package found at Manchester federal building was harmless

MANCHESTER — A suspicious package left outside the Norris Cotton Federal Building on Chestnut Street turned out to be the “worldly possessions” of an apparently homeless man, according to police.

Sgt. Craig Rousseau said State Police explosives experts were called to the scene after a zippered bag was found around 7 a.m. Thursday.

They used a device called a “disrupter” to open the bag.

Meanwhile, he said overnight video showed a homeless man had taken shelter from the storms at the building and later left his “worldly possessions” behind.

“It was just in a bad spot,” he said.

Rousseau said the building was briefly evacuated during the incident.

Christie is the real deal

We have found Gov. Chris Christie to be the most consistent, the most confident in his abilities, the most tested under fire, and the most likely to regain the White House from a disastrous Democratic regime.
