New Boston police arrest 29 teens at house party

NEW BOSTON — Twenty-nine teens were arrested after police responded to a noise complaint at 32 Whipplewill Road just before 2 a.m. on Saturday.

Police said they discovered a large number of teenagers, ages 15 to 19, in unlawful possession of alcohol and, in some cases, marijuana.

Resident Cody Howe, 18, hosted the party and was charged with facilitating an underage drinking party, possession of a controlled drug, unlawful possession of alcohol and resisting arrest or detention. He is scheduled to appear in Goffstown District Court on Sept. 16.

Twenty-eight of Howe’s guests are also scheduled to appear in Goffstown District Court on Aug. 12, Sept. 2 or Sept. 16, to face a variety of charges, including possession of a controlled drug, unlawful possession of alcohol and resisting arrest.

Police said they do not know who purchased the alcohol or marijuana because the guests have not revealed the information.

There were no adults at home during the party. New Boston police said there is nothing to indicate that Cody Howe’s parents knew about the party.

New Boston officers Jennifer Watson and Stephen Case were the first on the scene to investigate a noise complaint; they requested mutual assistance.

In total, 12 officers responded to assist at Whipplewill Road, including Weare (two officers), Goffstown (one officer), Amherst (one officer), Bedford (two officers) state police (two officers) and two additional New Boston officers.

“All of the officers did an outstanding job under some challenging circumstances,” New Boston Police Chief James Brace said.

He said the agencies arrived on the scene very quickly once the mutual aid request was made.

The investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information is encouraged to call the New Boston Police Department at 603-487-2433.
