SALEM — The congregations of four church campuses will gather in Salem next month for a community-wide Beach Bash.
Hosted by the Granite United Church, the annual summer gathering will take place Aug. 17 at Hedge Hog Park, starting at 1:30 p.m.
The town-owned park is located at 53 Lowell Road.
Church spokesman Erica Croteau said she expects 500 or more guests to attend the Beach Bash, which will be open to the public.
Granite United Church has campuses on Londonderry and Salem as well as in Haverhill and Lawrence, Mass.
Eight identical church services are offered each weekend, according to Croteau, with the main campus located at 1 Sand Hill Road in Salem.
Londonderry services are held at Tupelo Music Hall, 2 Young Road, while Massachusetts services take place at both Haverhill High School and the Lawrence Showcase Cinemas.
“Whether or not you’re a church attender, we’re encouraging the town to come out for our time of celebration,” she said.
Guests will enjoy a day of swimming, a disc jockey and a children’s play area with bounce houses, face painting and games.
While those stopping by for some summer fun are encouraged to bring a picnic lunch, there will also be several food vendors onsite. For more information, visit www.graniteunitedchurch.com.AGuilmet@newstote.com
