Seminar series offers guidance for new business owners
A free workshop in Windham this month might be just the thing to help you get started.
On Aug. 19, town officials will team up with the Greater Derry Londonderry Chamber of Commerce to offer a workshop, Launching or Relocating a Business in Windham, at the Common Man restaurant, 88 Range Road.
During the hour-and-a- half session, potential business owners will have the chance to meet Windham Community Development Director Laura Scott, Fire Inspector Bill Martineau, Building Inspector Mike McGuire and Zoning Board Code Enforcement Officer Dick Gregory.
Scott said Windham is rapidly growing and is rife with economic development possibilities right now.
The Chamber serves the communities of Londonderry, Derry, Auburn, Windham, Atkinson, Chester and Hampstead.
Back by popular demand, another Londonderry workshop is being planned for Sept. 19 and will focus on legal and tax-planning issues. The location is still being determined, Chamber officials said this week.
“A lot of the questions we hear tend to revolve around things like zoning, about signage and about the legalities of having a home-based business,” she said.
