Manchester woman accidentally rolls car into Candia pond

CANDIA — A Manchester woman accidentally rolled her car into in a Candia pond this week when she forgot to put the vehicle in park, police said.

According to Candia Chief Mike McGillen, the 50-year-old woman was driving on Route 27 about 8 p.m. on July 26 when she pulled over to the side of the road to snap a photo of a horse at Charmingfare Farm.

She forgot to put the the 1993 Buick in park, he said, and it slowly rolled down an embankment toward a pond.

McGillen said the driver tried to stop the vehicle but failed,

She suffered several bruises, cuts and scratches and was taken to Elliot Hospital in Manchester for treatment.
