New Hampshire Agricultural Fairs create fun for all


We've already seen some fairs go by. But they start early around here. In fact, New Hampshire's fair season opens in July with the Stratham Fair and is quickly followed by the North Haverhill Fair and the Cheshire Fair. But it's August now and some of the best fairs are yet to come! Here's a breakdown of all of the upcoming fairs in New Hampshire for 2014.

Belknap County 4H Fair

August 9th-10th, 2014
The 72nd Annual Belknap County Fair features live performances and demonstrations, games, animals, and a midway. Browse the Exhibits, Crafts and Entertainment and Check out the Pulls and the Concession Stands. Everyone Loves the Belknap County Fair’s Sunday Night Pie Auction! The fair takes place at the Belknap County 4-H Fairgrounds in Belmont.

Cornish Fair

August 15th-17th, 2014
From live entertainment to include the Cornish Fair King and Queen pageant, live music and family entertainment, helicopter rides, the 50th Woodsmen's Field Day Contest, and more.

Lancaster Fair

August 27 - September 1, 2014
The 2014 Lancaster Fair Labor Day week extravaganza spotlights agriculture activities, a large midway, 4-H exhibits, diverse musical entertainment and motorized competitions (pulling events and the ever-popular Demolition Derby). The grounds also boast wide clean midways and free parking. From one end of the 65 acre compound straddling Route 30 to the other, the fair sprawls out for six days of camping, relaxation, and fun atmosphere capping another North Country summer.


Hopkinton State Fair

August 29th - September 1st, 2014
The Hopkinton State Fair, now in its 99th year, is among the top-ranked agricultural fairs in New Hampshire. They are well known for their agricultural exhibits as well as their fine entertainment.  This year there will be canine demonstrations, performances by the NH Cowboy Mounted Shooters, Sand Sculpture, strolling musicians, a demolition derby, snowmobile drags, tractor pulls and a mud race.

Hillsborough County Agricultural Fair

September 5th-7th, 2014
Entertainment including the Tammy Lynn Myles High Band, Bow Junction, Cold Comfort, Dan Morgan Trio and Johnnie Bubar & Dan Morgan. A midway is open throughout the weekend and - back by popular demand is NH Falconry.  There will be flights demos on both Saturday and Sunday.

139th Rochester Fair

September 12th-21st, 2014
The 139th Rochester Fair is one of the oldest and largest fairs in the state. Featuring oxen pulling, horse shows, a giant midway, exhibits and demonstrations, demolition derbies including a trailer derby and a bus derby, live entertainment, family fun activities, a nationally touring big top circus and so much more!

138th Annual Deerfield Fair

The Deerfield Fair - this year in its 138th year, is New England's Oldest Agricultural Family Fair.  There is plenty to do:  Pig scrambles, oxen and horse pulls, a demolition derby, a midway, games, demonstrations, exhibits, the prestigious Miss Deerfield Pageant, live entertainment and so much more.

Sandwich Fair

October 11th-13th, 2014
Schedule includes a Midway, Farmers Market, Craft Building and Concessions, an antique auto show, antique tractor pull, children's pedal tractor pull, goat, horse, beef shows, magic shows, donkey and mule shows, Woodman's Field Day, Antique Tractor Pull, Dairy Show, live entertainment, horse pulling, the Grand Street Parade and more.
