Brown to launch ‘town hall’ meetings
The candidate said the “New Hampshire Speaks” event will focus on illegal immigration. Each meeting will feature a question-and-answer session...“Town hall meetings are an essential part of the New Hampshire political process,” Brown said in a press release. “Granite State voters expect candidates running for office to look them in the eye and engage them directly on the important issues of the day. These unfiltered conversations give voters a chance to hear from their would-be representatives on a wide variety of topics, and I'm looking forward to listening and learning from the people of New Hampshire.”..The event in Salem is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. at Black Water Grill.
Shaheen was making stops along the Connecticut River valley Monday. She was scheduled to visit River Valley Community College in Claremont to highlight job training programs...Her office cited the importance of the Trade Adjustment Assistance Community College and Career Training Grant Program, which provides institutions with the resources to partner with local companies and deliver career training programs that can be completed in two years or less...Shaheen's schedule also had a stop at Pro-Cut International in West Lebanon, to highlight expanding trade and exporting opportunities to help small businesses expand and create jobs, according to Shaheen's office...Former U.S. Sen. Bob Smith's campaign issued an email blast over the weekend, saying he is the only U.S. Senate candidate to have taken the “Taxpayer Pledge,” the pledge that Americans for Prosperity-NH rolled out last week...Smith was scheduled to be among the candidates speaking last night at the Nashua Area Federation of Republican Women candidates' night.
