Weare will celebrate Old Home Day Aug. 23
The vintage parade will kick off at 10 a.m. down the middle of Rt. 114. Participants are welcomed to dress in period costumes, or decorate a bike, stroller or wagon.
“You are going to be busy if you are here for the day,” said organizer Heleen Kurk. There will be food and music throughout the day and interactive displays.
“You name the craft, we’ll have someone here for that. It’s a huge variety. Many nonprofits are participating, such as therapy dogs that kids like to read to,” said Kurk.
Rev up your engine for the Weare Classic Car Show from 1 a.m to 4 p.m.

Friends of the Library will hold a book sale. The Tramp House, complete with a resident hobo, and Historical Society Museum will be opened for tours.
The Sons of American Legion and the Historical Society plus a few other vendors will offer a variety of foods for sale.
A commemorative poster and 250th memorabilia will be available.
