Nashua police charge woman with robbery after alleged bite.

Frechette

NASHUA— A city woman is facing a felony charge because she bit a loss prevention officer at Macy’s who caught her shoplifting items worth $800, police said.

Crystal Frechette, 34, of 28 Railroad Square, was arrested Tuesday afternoon and charged with robbery, a Class B felony.

Had she not allegedly bitten the Macy’s employee, the charge would have been a misdemeanor.

Police said the incident happened about 3:45 pm. Tuesday at Macy’s in the Pheasant Lane Mall, 310 Daniel Webster Highway.

Frechette allegedly fought with the loss prevention officer who stopped her and bit him.

When police arrived, the two were no longer fighting.

Police said officers found the stolen merchandise, valued at $800, in Frechette’s purse.

Frechette is free on $2,500 cash/surety bail with arraignment set for Aug. 19 in 9th Circuit Court-District Division-Nashua.

A Class B felony is punishable by up to seven years in prison, while a misdemeanor carries a maximum 12-month jail sentence, both exclusive of fines.
