Interim IT, NH tourism heads approved

CONCORD — The Executive Council Wednesday approved temporary leaders for two state agencies.

The council unanimously confirmed Steven Kelleher of Concord as acting commissioner of the Department of Information Technology and Amy Bassett of Hopkinton as acting director of the Division of Travel and Tourism Development:

“Steven Kelleher and Amy Bassett both have extensive experience in their respective fields, and I am confident that their leadership will help the Department of Information Technology and the Division of Travel and Tourism Development continue to operate efficiently and effectively as we conduct the searches for candidates to fill these positions permanently,” Hassan said after the vote. “I thank the Executive Council for their swift action to ensure that these important functions of state government will continue to have the leadership that they need.”

Kelleher has 30 years of experience in the information technology field in the private and public sectors. For the past 15 years, Kelleher worked for the State of New Hampshire, including as IT leader for the Department of Health and Human Services and as the technical manager for the State’s Medicaid systems.

Bassett developed marketing strategies for the Department of Resources and Economic Development, including serving as Deputy Director of the Division of Travel and Tourism.

She also worked for the Division of Parks and Recreation.The council approved Hassan’s nominations without the customary public hearings as it will not meet again until September.
