FRANKLIN — A local man was injured and taken to a local hospital after he was hit by a car walking across the street.

The man, who was in his 60s, was crossing Prospect Street about 1:30 p.m. when he was struck, Fire Department Capt. Jason Jenkins said.

“We’re still investigating what happened; we don’t have all the details yet,” Jenkins said.

The man was taken to Franklin Regional Hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening, he said.
