Chamberlain leads NHGA Stroke Play

Joshua Chamberlain of Stonebridge shot a 5-under par 67 after the first day of the New Hampshire Golf Association Stroke Play Championship at Green Meadow Golf Club in Hudson on Tuesday.

Jim Cilley of Pembroke Pines shot a 68, one stroke off the pace on the Green Meadow Jungle Course. Nashua’s Phil Pleat and Griffin Brown of The Overlook were two shots off the pace.

State Amateur winner Joe Leavitt and runner-cup Cameron Salo were two of six players to card a 2-under 70.

The second round will be played today. The top 40 scorers and ties will proceed to Thursday’s final round.
