Painter falls from Rochester school roof


ROCHESTER — A man suffered serious injuries after falling from the roof of Spaulding High School on Friday afternoon.

According to a news release from Rochester Police Chief Michael J. Allen, police were called to the school at 12:20 p.m. to investigate a report that a man had fallen from the school’s roof. The release reports a subcontractor operating a hydraulic lift to paint trim on the building fell approximately one story.

The man, whose name was not released, was treated by Frisbie Memorial Hospital EMS personnel and flown to Maine Medical Center in Portland by helicopter for treatment of serious injuries.

OSHA sent a team of investigators to review the accident. The man’s condition was not available Sunday night.
