August 10. 2014 2:14PM

UNITY — Three people were killed early Sunday morning when their car crashed into a tree on West Unity Road, Fire Chief Bruce E. Baker said.

Baker said one other person in the car was flown to a hospital in critical condition. The crash happened in front of a building at 578 West Unity Road about 2 a.m. Sunday, he said.

Several social media posts indicated that the people killed were teenagers, but Baker said he could not confirm that.

He said he also couldn't provide other details, as state police are handling the investigation. As of Sunday afternoon, state police have yet to release any information, with a dispatch supervisor saying only that no press release was available.
