MERRIMACK — A local woman is accused of driving under the influence of liquor and having a child under the age of 16 in the car with her at the time.

Kerry Dovidio, 41, of 4 Dumpling Way, was arrested late Sunday afternoon after police received a call from a concerned motorist about a 2005 Volvo XC90 operating erratically on Premium Outlets Boulevard.

The car continued onto Industrial Drive before turning onto Continental Boulevard, but was ultimately stopped by police on Cambridge Drive.

Police said the officer detected an odor of alcohol on Dovidio's breath and after a brief investigation, which included field sobriety tests, she was arrested and taken to the police station.

She is charged with DWI, aggravated DWI, endangering the welfare of a child, falsifying physical evidence and transporting alcoholic beverages.

Capt. Peter Albert said he could not give out any information concerning the child, who was released to a responsible adult.

Dovidio was released on $5,000 personal recognizance bail pending an Aug. 18 arraignment in 9th Circuit Court - Merrimack District Division.
