Plaistow man faces decades in jail for tot abuse conviction
Roland Dow, 28, was found guilty by a jury in June on 11 of 12 charges for allegedly beating and burning the toddler in the fall of 2012.
Prosecutors said that Dow treated 3-year-old James Nicholson, “like a dog” and subjected him to “torture sessions” inside a running shower. Graphic videos were shown to jurors during the trial that were recorded by the boy’s mother, Jessica Linscott, 24, of Plaistow.
She was the state’s key witness against Dow and admitted to not stopping him from abusing the boy. Defense lawyers cast Linscott as an absentee mother who also physically punished her son.
