Pedroza had a night that would have made Pedroia proud.

Akron's Jamie Pedroza cracked three hits, including a two-run homer, and finished with four runs batted in to lead the Rubber Ducks to a 9-7 victory over the New Hampshire Fisher Cats in Eastern League action on Friday night at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium.

Pedroza had RBI singles in the second and third innings, then broke open the game with a two-run homer in the seventh. His first two hits came against Fisher Cats starter Casey Lawrence (9-7), who worked 4 1/3 innings and allowed seven runs on nine hits. He walked four.

The Fisher Cats scored twice in the fourth when Andy Burns walked and scored on Melky Mesa’s double. Mesa then scored on Mike McDade’s sacrifice fly.

The home team added a single run in the fifth then added two more in the sixth on Derrick Chung’s two-run double.

New Hampshire scored once in the eighth and once more in the ninth before closer Enosil Tejeda nailed down his four save.

The teams play again tonight at 7:05 p.m.
