A three-run sixth inning rally highlighted by a two-run single from Cory Aldridge led the Fisher Cats past Akron 3-2 at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium Sunday. The win, coupled with Saturday’s 8-5 triumph, allowed New Hampshire (61-66) to creep closer to the .500 mark and salvage a 3-3 homestand.
Austin Bibens-Dirkx (6-2) pitched a six-hitter in six innings for the win. He had no walks and fanned five.
After a day off today, the Fisher Cats open a three-game road series Tuesday in Trenton. P.J. Walters (1-1, 3.52) will pitch for New Hampshire in the 7:05 p.m. start.
The Sea Dogs are in town through Sunday before New Hampshire closes out its homestand with a four-game series against Harrisburg from Aug. 25-28.
