Pope calls Foleys to offer his condolences
CBS News reported that Pope Francis called the parents of slain journalist James Foley on Thursday afternoon to give them his condolences.
Jesuit Father Federico Lombardi said the Pope called John and Diane Foley at their Rochester home to assure them that they are in his prayers.
He said the Foleys were “deeply moved and grateful.”
The Rev. Paul Gousse of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary in Rochester said a Sunday Mass for Foley can be watched online.
The holy Mass of healing, hope, and for peace will be held at the North Main Street Church at 2 p.m.
A memorial Mass is planned for James Foley on Oct. 18, which would have been his 41st birthday.
