Manchester men charged with drive-by shooting in Nashua

DARRION WEEKLY

DAVID WEEKLY

EDITOR'S NOTE - This story has been updated to reflect new information from police that the man who had identified himself as Darrious Weekly is in fact David Weekly.

NASHUA — Two Manchester brothers already in trouble with the law have been arrested for allegedly shooting at individuals standing on a downtown sidewalk early Wednesday.

“This was a drive-by shooting,” Lt. Denis Linehan said.

A police officer driving on Main Street around 2:45 a.m. heard three gunshots and saw a white Dodge Avenger accelerate through a stop sign from Pratt Street onto Main Street. Police stopped the car, at which time three people approached authorities, claiming the occupants of the vehicle — David Weekly and Darrion Weekly — had just fired a gun at them.

Linehan said the Weeklys drove by and fired just after two of the victims exited a car in the area of 10-12 Pratt St. Police said no one was hit by the bullets, but one of the victims suffered a broken arm when he was accidentally run over by the car he was exiting.

Darrion Weekly, 19, of 219 Notre Dame Ave., Apt. 3N, Manchester, was charged with attempted first-degree assault and reckless conduct, both felonies.

David Weekly, 20, of 38 Orange St., Apt. 1, Manchester, was charged with criminal liability to attempted first-degree assault and criminal liability to reckless conduct, both felonies.

According to police, David Weekly was at the wheel of the Dodge Avenger; Darrion Weekly allegedly fired a handgun.

Police said one of the bullets struck a window at 12 Pratt St., which was occupied at the time. The handgun had not yet been recovered as of Wednesday afternoon; however authorities were obtaining a search warrant for the Weekly’s vehicle.

Both men are scheduled to be arraigned today at the 9th Circuit Court, Nashua District Division.

Earlier this year, David Weekly was arrested in Manchester and charged with a count of riot after a street fight on Laurel Street. His brother, Darrion Weekly, was arrested and charged with a count of riot after a June incident involving about 25 people near Hunt Pool in Manchester.
