Two F-15 jets may be in the air this morning over Manchester, Lake Sunapee and Lebanon, part of a training exercise on intercept procedures for jet fighter pilots, the Massachusetts Air National Guard said.
The exercise should take place between 9:30 a.m. and noon. The Civil Air Patrol will provide two low-speed aircraft that Guard pilots will attempt to intercept. Pilots will handle scenarios such as violations of restricted air space, hijackings and unknown aircraft.
Based in Westfield, Mass., the 104th Fighter Wing is tasked with defending airspace in the Northeast.
