Nashua man arrested in violent purse snatching
NASHUA — Police Wednesday arrested a local man in a violent purse snatching incident Aug. 20 in which the victim fractured a bone in her foot and suffered scrapes and bruises.
Police said Jerald "JJ" Leith, 26, of 115 Almont St., is charged with felony robbery. He is accused of approaching a 65-year-old woman from behind as she entered her apartment building on Congress Street, pushed her to the ground and took her pocketbook after a brief struggle.
Leith was scheduled for arraignment Thursday in Circuit Court-Nashua District Division.
A second person, Bradley Bernard, 35, was taken into custody Tuesday for his role in the incident and was released on bail, scheduled for arraignment Sept. 30 in Circuit Court.
