Merrimack Valley tops Hollis/Brookline in Spaulding Jamboree


ROCHESTER— Quarterback Ivan Niyomugabo, who has committed to the University of New Hampshire, scored on touchdown runs of 10, 9 and 42 yards to lead Merrimack Valley of Penacook to a 20-0 win over Hollis/Brookline to highlight the annual Spaulding High Football Jamboree at Hugo Bolin Field Thursday.

Each game consisted of one 12-minute period.

Other games:

Gilford 6, Epping 0: Max Troiano scored on an 8-yard run.

Stevens 8, Epping 6: Stevens’ Devin Porter had a 35 yard TD run and Jackson Spooner added the PAT. Alex Toribio scored on a 26-yard run for Epping.

Kingswood 14, Stevens 0: Scoring came on a 42-yard TD pass from Logan Loring to Owen Gonya and a 28-yard run by Tony Ruiz.

Kingswood 7, Hollis/Brookline 6: Kingswood scored on a two-yard run by Alex Mantarozzo, and Matt Ferenzahley scored a 47-yard TD for Hollis/Brookline.

ConVal 6, Gilford 6: ConVal’s John Crowley threw 14 yards to Liam Baldwin for a score.

Gilford’s Carter Mercer threw two yards to Kyle Gaudet for six points.

Spaulding 21, ConVal 8: Spaulding’s Anthony Diprizio scored on runs of 7 and 50 yards and Blake Barbin added a 38-yard TD run. ConVal scored on an 11-yard pass from Crowley to Baldwin.

Merrimack Valley 8, Somersworth 0: Tucker Burt rambled 77 yards and then scored from four yards out on the next play.

Spaulding 14, Somersworth 6: Spaulding scored on runs of one yard by Casey Craig and 98 yards by Brendan Mathais. Somersworth’s TD came on a 65-yard fake punt by Elyjah Dejoie.
