Manchester raid came 8 months after home invasion

MANCHESTER — One of the four residents arrested on federal charges Wednesday following a drug raid that resulted in a person being shot by police also was the victim of an alleged home invasion in January.

Manchester police found Johanna Nunez and an acquaintance bound in handcuffs inside her 495 Old Wellington Road apartment Jan. 4, court records said. The two said two men pretending to be police officers stole $1,000, a 9-mm Glock pistol and other items. The home invasion remains unsolved.

Johanna Nunez, Jennifer Nunez, Samuel Garcia and Raul A. Hernandez were arrested Wednesday on charges of possession with intent to distribute and conspiracy to distribute oxycodone. Federal complaints were obtained Thursday along with a police affidavit.

The four are being held by U.S. Marshal’s office pending detention and preliminary hearings in U.S. District Court in Concord next week.

Lillian Nunez was shot while investigators were executing a federal search warrant Wednesday night at her apartment at 110 Beech St., Apt. 3. Nunez’s wound is not life threatening. She is not charged in connection with alleged oxycodone distribution ring.

The state Attorney General’s Office is investigating the incident, which is standard in all officer-involved shootings.

The four arrests were the result of an investigation that began last October and involved alleged undercover drug purchases using confidential sources, surveillance and wiretaps, according to the affidavit police filed in support of the complaints.
