Milford town administrator is leaving post for job in Conn.

August 30. 2014 7:54PM

MILFORD - Town Administrator Guy Scaife will leave later this month to take over as town manager of Rocky Hill, Conn.

Scaife, 64, started with Milford in the fall of 2006 after replacing former Town Manager Katie Chambers. His last day in Milford is Sept. 12.

Until a new administrator is hired, selectmen will assume the manager's responsibilities. Issues and complaints will be handled by Police Chief Michael Viola, then passed on to Selectmen Chairman Gary Daniels.

According to the Hartford Courant, Scaife beat out five finalists after a nationwide candidate search.

"Scaife brings a background in computers and telecommunications to the position," Rocky Hill Mayor Henry Vasel told the Hartford Courant.

Rocky Hill is between Hartford and New Haven, Conn., with a population of 20,000.
