Londonderry gives blessing to 8-unit industrial building
LONDONDERRY — With the Planning Board’s blessings, construction on an eight-unit industrial building on the corner of Technology Drive and Akira Way will soon be underway.
During Wednesday night’s public hearing, property owner Robert Lamontagne of Fairwinds Properties, LLC, and project engineer Brian Pratt of CLD Consulting Engineers shared plans for the 12,800-square-foot facility.
Pratt said a similar project was proposed for the site about a decade ago, and though it was cleared through the town’s planning department, was never built.
He said the most recent plans, which call for a building constructed to fit the naturally sloping landscape, seem more cost-effective than building the two-story facility initially proposed.
According to Pratt, the site will also include 31 parking spaces, with a single driveway off Akira Way.
The facility will be in the same neighborhood as L-3 Warrior Systems.
Lamontagne said several companies have expressed interest in the site.
