Ivanka Trump officially opens father's Manchester campaign office

MANCHESTER — Ivanka Trump officially opened her father’s political office here Wednesday by touting Donald J. Trump as a tested leader who can take a partisan punch.

Trump said her father was acutely aware of the “ruthless” nature of presidential election politics and would rise above the rhetoric.

Trump, who launched his campaign and visited the Granite State last week, has proven to be adept at mixing it up in that rough world of politics. He’s not hesitated at leveling criticism at some of his fellow Republican hopefuls.

His Manchester campaign office, packed with people interested in meeting Ms. Trump, is located on the second story of an otherwise standard, brick office building off Granite Street, just west of I-293.

Ivanka Trump, in brief remarks before meeting people, pointed to her father’s resume as a deal-maker.

“You need somebody who knows how to get things done,” she said. “You need a strong, confident negotiator, and he’s definitely that.”

Ivanka Trump is an executive vice president in the Trump organization. She also is a businesswoman with her own line of jewelry and fashion.

Trump is scheduled to return to New Hampshire next week. He will be speaking at a reception at 5:30 p.m. at the Van Anglen home at 30 Church Road in Bedford on June 30. Overflow parking and shuttle will be at the Presbyterian Church located at 4 Church Road, according to the campaign.
