Police hunt for Bellwether Credit Union robbers

NASHUA — Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying two men wanted in connection with a holdup at the Bellwether Community Credit Union in Nashua Thursday morning.

Nashua police say they were called to the Bellwether Community Credit Union at 409 Amherst St. at 11:28 a.m. Thursday to investigate a report of an armed robbery.

Police say two men entered the business at 11:26 a.m. and demanded money from two tellers while threatening them with handguns. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash, both men fled the business out the rear entrance on foot and into nearby woods. There were no reported injuries during the robbery.

According to Nashua police, the first thief is described as a male, standing approximately 5 feet 10 inches to 5 feet 11 inches tall wearing blue jeans, a dark gray hooded sweatshirt with white laces, a dark ball cap, a black mask covering his face, black gloves, and black Nike sneakers with white soles. He was armed with a black handgun, and was seen holding a black laptop style case.

The second thief is described as a male, standing approximately 5 feet 11 inches to 6 feet 1 inch tall, wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt, black pants, black shoes and black gloves. The man was wearing a dark colored bandana around his neck with a black mask covering his face, and was also armed with a dark colored handgun.

Police are asking members of the public to pay close attention to their clothing. Anyone having any information regarding this incident or the identity of the two men is asked to contact Nashua police at 594-3500 and ask to speak to a detective with the Criminal Investigation Division.
