6 endorse Chris Christie, who releases new campaign ad

N.J. Gov. Chris Christie announced Monday that six former state lawmakers have endorsed his bid for the Republican nomination for President.

The six are former state Employment Security Commissioner Richard Brothers, R-Thornton, former Rep. Karen Hutchinson, R-Londonderry, former Rep. Dennis Reed, R-Franklin, former Rep. Robert Scott, R-Newport, former Rep. Paul Simard, R-Bristol, and former Rep. Elaine Swinford, R-Barnstead.

Scott is a former member of the state GOP executive committee and founder of the Ronald Reagan Foundation for Future New Hampshire Leaders.

Seven state lawmakers, including 15-term Rep. Betsy McKinney of Londonderry, announced their support for Christie last week.

Christie holds a town hall meeting at Sayde's Neighborhood Bar & Grill in Salem at 5 p.m. Monday.  His campaign also released its third television ad.
