PORTSMOUTH — U.S. Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, D-NH, will endorse Democratic candidate for President, Hillary Clinton, at an event in Portsmouth next weekend.

Clinton will return to New Hampshire Saturday, Sept. 5, to attend a kickoff event for New Hampshire Women for Hillary at 11:30 a.m. at 195 Parrott Avenue in Portsmouth, where she will be endorsed by Shaheen.

At the event, Clinton is expected to discuss the challenges that women worldwide face, and mark the 20th anniversary of her speech in Beijing, China, where she declared “human rights are women’s rights and women’s rights are human rights once and for all.”

In 1995, Clinton led the U.S. delegation to Beijing to attend the United Nations fourth World Conference on Women.

The New Hampshire Women for Hillary event is open to the public. Individuals interested in attending can RSVP at
