RAYMOND — School officials will check surveillance camera footage in hopes of finding the vandal who sprayed what appears to be blue paint across the front of a sign at the entrance to Raymond High School.

The graffiti was discovered Wednesday morning.

Superintendent Ellen Small said the sign was likely damaged sometime during the nighttime hours because she didn’t notice it when she left the school Tuesday night.

“It’s extremely unusual,” she said, adding that vandalism cases are rare at the school.

Small said the surveillance footage from the school’s security cameras will be viewed as part of the investigation. She said the school has had cameras for many years.

“We’ve been at the forefront of safety in our district,” she said.

Small said the sign was the only vandalism found on the grounds of Raymond schools.
