Annual Millennium Mile set for Friday

Over 1,500 runners are expected to be at the starting line on Mammoth Road in front of Londonderry High Friday for the annual Millennium Mile. The race is slated to start at 2 p.m.

Race day registration is open for adults for $20. Registration for kids 11 and under is $10.

Parking will be available at the Londonderry High gym parking lot and the gym will serve as the headquarters for the organizers of the race.

The race course will run south downhill and end at the corner of Mammoth Road and Peabody Row.

Last year, Sean Hyland of Andover, Mass., won the overall race in four minutes, eight seconds, followed by Joseph St. Pierre of Manchester in 4:10.

The female winner was Jennifer Mortimer of New London, wife of race organizer John Mortimer. She completed the course in 4:49.

An awards ceremony after the race is slated at the high school gym.
