Nashua hiker, 65, collapses, dies on Franconia Ridge Trail

FRANCONIA - The New Hampshire Fish and Game Department has identified the man who died after collapsing on the Franconia Ridge Trail.

Maxim Raykin, 65, of Nashua, was hiking in a group of five when he collapsed on the trail around 11 a.m. Saturday, Fish and Game said in a release Sunday.

Efforts to revive Raykin were unsucessful. Fish and Game said an autopsy was planned for Sunday.

Fish and Game said Raykin was an experienced hiker who was prepared with appropriate equipment for the weather.
