U.S. Sen. Kelly Ayotte, R-NH, will appear in Hudson on Tuesday to pick up a key endorsement in her re-election bid against Democratic challenger Gov. Maggie Hassan.
The New Hampshire Union Leader has learned that Ayotte will appear at Gilchrist Metal Fabricating in Hudson at 10 a.m. today to receive the endorsement of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. Ayotte will be joined at the firm’s Park Avenue manufacturing site by Rob Engstrom, senior vice president and national political director for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and Gilchrist Company President Jack Gilchrist, a veteran and active member of the local Republican Party.
“I’m grateful to have this support from the Chamber, which is a strong advocate for workers and businesses throughout New Hampshire and our nation,” said Ayotte in a statement Monday night. “Coming from a small business family, I’ve worked to make sure that policies coming out of Washington drive economic growth and innovation — not hinder it. I’ll continue my efforts to reduce burdensome regulations and lower taxes, reduce health care costs, and foster more opportunities for good-paying jobs in New Hampshire.”
The announcement is expected to include brief remarks by Ayotte, Engstrom and Gilchrist, followed by a brief tour of the metal fabricating facility.
