60th: Mr. and Mrs. Heidenreich

Mr. and Mrs. Alan Heidenreich of Manchester recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary at a reception at the Henry J. Sweeney Post in Manchester.
Mr. Heidenreich and the former Barbara Bramhall were married on Sept. 1, 1956, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church and renewed their vows during a Mass at St. Raphael Parish to mark the occasion.
Mr. Heidenreich attended local schools, graduating from Manchester High School West in 1949. He served in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1954 as a military policeman in the Army of occupation in Germany. He later attended St. Anselm College on the GI Bill.
Mrs. Heidenreich is a graduate of St. Joseph High School, Class of 1954. She spent many years in the hospitality field and owned and operated Barbara's Beauty Salon for 30 years prior to retirement.
The couple have been active in many local organizations, including youth programs as well as civic and veterans organizations.
The anniversary reception was co-hosted by the couple's four children: Cathy and Gregg of Manchester, Frank of Laconia and Scott (Gena) of Goffstown. Among the 75 guests were several who attended the 1956 wedding, including members of the original wedding party. Two of the couple's grandchildren, Samuel and Jared of Goffstown, also were present. The couple also plans a trip to Florida to celebrate their anniversary.
