Overnight snow delays many NH schools Thursday

February 16. 2017 7:13AM

Although snow was expected to taper off by mid-day and highways were out in force, hundreds of schools across New Hampshire delayed opening for two hours or cancelled classes for the day.

Manchester schools delayed opening for two hours, as did Nashua, Concord and Portsmouth.

Most highways and main roads in the Manchester area were slushy or clear, but side roads and rural back roads were snow-covered and slippery.

Skies were expected to clear into the evening, with clear and partly cloudy skies forecast all the way through next Wednesday, with temperatures ranging from about 20 degrees to more than 40 degrees through the period in the Manchester area, according to the National Weather Service.
