Elderly man cut from car after Manchester crash
MANCHESTER — Firefighters cut open a car to reach an elderly man trapped inside after a crash Thursday afternoon at Valley and Elm streets.
District Fire Chief Michael Gamache said the crash involving a box van and car happened about 1:30 p.m. It took fire crews about 10 minutes to cut away the driver’s door and free the operator.
The elderly man, whose name was not available, was taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries Gamache described as not life-threatening.
The other driver of the Quick Parts Depot van was not injured.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
