High School Roundup: Walsh lifts Goffstown girls past West
Kelly Walsh scored 18 of her game-high 25 points in the second half to lead Goffstown past Manchester West 43-39 in a Division II girls’ basketball contest at Charles Quinn Gym in Manchester Thursday. Goffstown improved to 8-8 and West dropped to 4-12.
West led 29-25 after three quarters before Walsh tallied nine of her team’s 18 points in the last stanza. Taylor Ricard (six three-pointers) led West with 20 points and Emily Keefe netted nine points. Liv Brannen had seven points in the win along with four blocks.
Portsmouth 46, Windham 29: The Jaguars were led by Sam Adamson with seven points and 11 rebounds, followed by Ali Schiebel with six and Nikki Lemay with six. Windham dropped to 9-7. Libby Underwood tallied 15 points for the Clippers.
Salem 70, Keene 42: In Keene, Salem senior Griffin Curtis tallied 26 points and eight rebounds. He had 17 points by halftime. D.J. Coletti added 14 points and Nick Hayes tossed in six. Salem trailed 16-11 after the first quarter, but led 31-22 at halftime and 51-33 after three quarters.
Derryfield 55, Portsmouth Christian 37: At Manchester, Sam Anderson led the Cougars (15-1) with 16 points and 15 rebounds. Jeff Pratt added 12 points, all in the second half, and Andrew Dubrueil had seven points and five assists. Paul Staude had a game-high 17 points for PCA (7-10).
Windham 61, ConVal 47: In Peterborough, Windham (5-8) pulled away in the third quarter scoring 17 points, including nine from team-high scorer Kyle Rembis, who finished with 19 points and five steals. Tom Splagounias netted 13 points and had eight boards while Rick Logue tallied 10 points off the bench. In a make-up game, Windham travels to Pelham Sunday for a 2:30 p.m. encounter.
Goffstown 9, Alvirne 2: Wednesday in Tyngsboro, Mass., Max Lajeunesse, Noah Charron and Mickey Bridgeman scored two goals each for the Grizzlies (10-5). Brett Branscum, Maggie Fifield and MacKenzie Potvin also scored for Goffstown. Alvirne (3-13) received markers from Justin Hudgins and Kyle Sintiris.
Concord 5, Pinkerton 2: Alex Marceau tallied three goals to lead Concord past Pinkerton Wednesday at the Ice Den in Hooksett. Colin Kastle and Dan LeBell each had one goal. Spencer Burgess had 19 saves in net for Concord (14-1). Chris Gile and Lucas Masciarelli each scored for Pinkerton, which dropped to 10-4-1.
Dakota Robinson had 33 saves for the Astros.
