Fisher Cats win in 11 innings
Roemon Fields singled home two runs with two outs in the 11th inning to lead New Hampshire to a 4-2 Eastern League win against Trenton Wednesday at Arm & Hammer Park in Trenton, N.J. The Fisher Cats evened their record to 6-6 and close out the four-game series Thursday at 10:30 a.m.
In relief Jose Fernandez gained the mound win.
Trenton (7-5) led 2-0 in the first inning. Ryan McBroom of New Hampshire got a run back with his first homer of the season to lead off the fourth inning. The Fisher Cats tied the game in the eighth, getting consecutive doubles from Anthony Alford and McBroom.
Alford continues to lead the Eastern League with a .475 batting average after collecting one hit in five at-bats. McBroom had three hits and is hitting .342 in the clean-up spot.
New Hampshire starter Conner Greene allowed three hits and two runs and two walks on 103 pitches in 6-2/3 innings. He struck out five batters.
