Fishers drop road trip finale, back home Friday
A seven-game road trip ended on a sour note for the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, who dropped a 5-4 Eastern League encounter to the Trenton Thunder at Arm & Hammer Park in Trenton, N.J., on Thursday.
The Fisher Cats return home to open a three-game series against the Hartford Yard Goats Friday at 6:35 p.m. at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium. New Hampshire (6-7) finished its road trip 4-3, sweeping Hartford and taking one game in their four-game series against Trenton.
Down 2-0, the Fisher Cats got on the board in the third inning with his second homer of the season.
Trenton (8-5) scored three runs in the fourth inning for a 5-1 lead.
Down 5-2 entering the ninth, the Fisher Cats rallied for three runs. Emilio Guerrero started the rally with a single and advanced to second when Gunnar Heidt reached on a fielding error.
Raffy Lopez delivered Guerrero with a single and Roemon Fields singled home Heidt with two outs. Tim Lopes, who had two hits, grounded out to the end the game. Jon Harris (1-1, 9.64) starts today for New Hampshire against Parker Allen French (1-1, 3.48) of Hartford.
