HAMPSTEAD - A juvenile who ran away from Hampstead Hospital Wednesday night has been found by police.
The 16-year-old Londonderry boy left the facility on East Road about 8 p.m., prompting a police search.
Police said the teenager escaped through a set of rear doors at the hospital after a parent visit.
Police checked the area and local businesses but were unable to find him. Area law enforcement was asked to be on the lookout for him.
The hospital notified police about 10:30 p.m. that the teen was at Red's Shoe Barn on Route 125 in Plaistow. Police said he had called his mother, who then informed police of his location.
Plaistow officers went to the area but couldn't find the teen.
A State Police dog assisted the search and the teen eventually was convinced to come out of hiding and was taken into custody, police said.
