NHIAA Roundup: Londonderry girls hold off Pinkerton

The Londonderry High School girls’ lacrosse team’s defense was tough to beat in the second half Thursday.

Pinkerton Academy of Derry scored just one goal in the second half and dropped an 11-7 decision to the Lancers in a Division I girls’ lacrosse game Thursday in Derry. The game was tied 6-6 at halftime. Lauren Lisauskas, Dani Tompkins, Lilly Auger (two), Kiley Davis (two) and Avery Drouin accounted for the Pinkerton goals. Londonderry (10-4) was led by Emily Holland with five goals while Catie Derhak and Sarah Duarte each had two. Kiersten Hoglund and Allie Marsh each found the net once. Kaitlyn Marchant had 13 saves for the Lancers and Erica Tsetsilas collected three assists.

Boys’ lacrosse

Windham 16, Timberlane 11: In Plaistow, the Owls (7-4) were led by Cam Murphy and Chris Earl, each with three goals and one assist. Matt Lacata had two goals and two assists.

Londonderry 22, Nashua North 5: In Nashua, Sean Snyder and Dom Federico each scored five times and Cullen Behling tallied three goals.

Baseball

Souhegan 10, ConVal 4: In Peterborough, four homers supported Tucker Aiello’s complete game win. Bryce Reagan belted two solo home runs and Alec Burns and Max Benevides each added one. Aiello, on 80 pitches, allowed nine hits and no walks. He fanned five. Burns had three hits including his fifth season homer. Souhegan (11-1) plays at Lebanon (5-8) today.

Salem 4, Keene 3: In Salem, Dave Robertson slugged a two-run homer for Salem, which won in the seventh inning when Andrew Shumski walked with the bases loaded. Nick Robertson had an RBI single. Nate Darwin and Cullen Costa each had an RBI and, Zach Morris had three hits. Winning pitcher Kristian Harris allowed seven hits, one walk and fanned six.

Newmarket 12, Derryfield 8: In Newmarket, the Mules (10-4) defeated the Cougars (4-7) behind John Dowst with two hits. The Cougars had seven hits, led by Miles Fay with two hits including a two-run double. Richie Tarpey added a two-run single.

Softball

Londonderry 10, Pinkerton 0: In Derry, Andi Nelson of Londonderry (14-1) pitched a four-hit shutout with six strikeouts. She walked one. Cassidy Raza and Lauren Misiaszek (two RBIs) each had three hits to lead a 17-hit attack. Katrina Rivard, Ali Nelson and Elizabeth DeVoss (two RBIs) each had two hits.

Pelham 16, Trinity 3: In Manchester, Pelham (11-2) took advantage of 17 walks. Sarah Ratcliffe of Pelham had two hits and Lilly Shlimon had two RBIs.

Derryfield 13, Newmarket 1: In Newmarket, the Cougars had 13 hits as winning pitcher Emily Moll helped her cause with three hits and two RBIs. Moll allowed three hits in five innings. She fanned six and walked no one.

Boys’ volleyball

Salem 3, Bishop Guertin 1: BG was led by Joe Hyatt with 20 kills and eight digs. Sean Michaels collected 31 assists and 15 digs. Nate Newton had 24 digs.
