Two from Manchester arrested in Methuen, Mass. drive-by
MANCHESTER — Two city residents were arrested early Monday, charged in connection with a drive-by shooting outside a Methuen, Mass., hookah bar.
According to a release, city police were alerted by Methuen police that a 2010 Nissan Sentra registered to Aisha Herrera, 25, of Manchester, had been involved in the shooting incident.
Officers found the car parked on Quincy Street near Conant Street on the city’s West Side about 4 a.m., police said, and after watching three people get into the car, the officers pulled it over at Douglas and Dyson streets.
Driving the car was Herrera, police said, who was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, a felony, as well as discharge of a firearm within 500 feet of a buolding and being a disorderly person.
Also arrested was Herrera’s front-seat passenger, Moise Rodriguez, 25, charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, a felony, police said.
Police said they found a .380 caliber Hi-point handgun on rear-seat passenger Manuel Velasquez, 31, of Manchester, who was not charged and was released at the scene.
Herrera and Rodbriguez were scheduled to appear in Manchester circuit court Monday.
